Biography

Ottawa is no stranger to speakers with awkward delivery, skewed ideas and soul-mulching negativity. Luckily, Jeremy Hotz uses these qualities for comedy. Jeremy earned a standing ovation at his debut Just For Laughs gala.

The industry attention got him a Comedy Central special and spots on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He wrote and performed for The Jon Stewart Show and appeared in films like My Favorite Martian and Speed 2.

He toured Canada coast to coast with his theatre show, What a Miserable Tour This Is... which was filmed as a special on CTV. He won a Gemini for his performance on CBC's The Newsroom and received the highest honour at the Canadian Comedy Awards (the Dave Broadfoot Comic Genius Award), making Ottawa proud of their world leader of laughter, Jeremy Hotz.
