Bridget Ryan

Storyteller

Bridget has been writing, performing and producing in theatre all over North America for the past 20 years, and was most recently seen as ‘Little Buttercup” in the Edmonton Opera’s production of HMS Pinafore. A graduate of the acclaimed University of Cinncinnati’s CCM BFA Musical Program, national tours took her across the United States and Canada until her passion for creating and producing theatre was ignited while working alongside Broadway Producer Richard Frankel for several years at RFPNY Productions in New York City on such shows at STOMP, The Weir, The Sound of Music and The Producers, to name a few. She returned to Canada in 2004 where she was Host of Breakfast Television on CityTV for 16 years, garnering her several awards including ‘Woman of The Year’. Her passion for the stage never wained and in that time, she created/performed her hilarious ‘Here’s To The Ladies Who Laugh/Under The Influence’ Cabaret that took her all over western Canada to rave reviews.

Bridget is co-owner of The Carter-Ryan Gallery & Live Theatre Venue (in Canmore since 2011, and Banff in 2017), a gallery dedicated to showcasing the work of sculptor/ painter Jason Carter and live theatre in the evenings. Bridget has written five children’s books, including the WHO IS BOO series, and she was published by Playwrights Canada, where she’s been a proud member since 1995. She could not be more honoured and excited to be a part of this beloved piece of music, PETER AND THE WOLF!
