Jasper Ng (9 years old) started playing piano at age four, and violin at five in Edmonton. He's currently studying piano with Joseph Fridman at Alberta Music Academy and violin with Frank Ho.
At the age of six, he was awarded scholarships for both instruments during the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival, played violin at Edmonton Canterbury senior home, and performed piano in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City as a second-place winner of the American Protégé International Competition.
Jasper has now performed four times at Weill Hall, including violin once and piano three times. He also played piano at Muttart Hall with the members of the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, and at the 2019 Calgary Wonderland Sculpture Recital hosted by the Royal Conservatory of Music. On April 17, 2020, He will present a violin performance at McDougall United Church as part of the Edmonton Music and Speech Arts Festival Opening Gala. Besides his instruments, Jasper enjoys reading, drawing, swimming, playing Ping-Pong and soccer (he was chosen to play striker for EMSA annual All Star U9 team). He is also a fan of Lego and Rubik’s cubes.
