Orlando Martínez Kindelán

Orlando Martínez Kindelán is the owner and creative director of FiestaCubana Dance School which opened in Edmonton in April 2007. Orlando has been dancing professionally since 1998 in Cuba, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

Orlando began dancing in various dance groups throughout primary and secondary school in Eastern Cuba. At 12 years of age he was sought after by the National Arts School in Santiago de Cuba.

Over the course of his career he has performed with professional Cuban dance companies, Cuban artists such as Alexander Abreu & Havana D'Primera and as a founding dancer and choreographer of Proyecto Azul (Project Blue) professional Cuban dance company. During this time, Orlando won several awards performing in festivals and events throughout Cuba, including the award for “best male performance” at an ELSINOR gala, the most important and prestigious competition hosted by the National Arts School. Orlando's passion is to introduce to other cultures Cuban dance including Casino-style Salsa, Rueda, Salsa Suelta, Afro Cuban Orishas, Son, Rumba, Mambo, and Cha Cha Cha. He regularly performs at various functions, special events, and festivals, delighting audiences with his high-energy.
