Robert Hryciw, a native Edmontonian, has been a member of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 1975. A graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music, he studied with Lawrence Fisher and Thomas Rolston. Prior to that, his teachers included Broderyck Olson, Alexander Nicol and David Martin.
He has also been a member of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra (Banff), the Alberta Baroque Ensemble and the Edmonton Chamber Orchestra (ECHO). Robert has taught Suzuki violin for the Society for Talent Education since 1977 and has served as their Program Coordinator and Co-Music Director. In addition he is on the music faculty of the Suzuki Charter School and has also adjudicated festivals and taught at summer music camps. Robert’s wife Theresa is an active accompanist and piano teacher. They have three children – Aaron, Anna and Lisa.
