Stefan Jungkind

Viola

Stefan began his musical training in London, England as a child, and received his advanced musical training in Edmonton and at the
Vancouver Academy of Music, University of Cincinnati and Banff School
of Fine Arts.

As a professional violinist and violist, he has played in and performed solos with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra (as concertmaster) and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra among others. Currently playing in the viola section, he was Principal Violist of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra from 1997 to 2018, and was a member of the first violin section for 12 years prior to that. As a chamber musician Stefan has performed numerous concerts with many different ensembles in Calgary, Edmonton and Thunder Bay, and was one of the founders of both Quartetto Capilano and the Sempre la Musica chamber music series. As a teacher he maintains a lively class of both violinists and violists.
