Joanne Yu
Cello
Cellist Joanne Yu is an active freelance musician and music teacher in the Edmonton music scene. She received her Masters in Cello Performance from McGill University. Joanne is a 3-time member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and has performed in many festivals in Canada and the US, including Banff, Orford, Domain Forget, and Colorado Springs. Experienced and skilled in solo, chamber, and orchestral music, she enjoys performing and teaching all levels and styles of music.
Teaching Quote/Philosophy:
I believe in personalizing my teaching approach for each of my student's needs, interest levels, and ability. I use a friendly and relaxed approach while always aiming for excellence in form, intonation, and quality of tone.
Lesson Description:
I offer lessons from beginner to advanced levels in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions from my home studio, centrally located in Rossdale.
