Laura Wakeman
Cello
Laura Wakeman is a cellist based in Edmonton, Alberta. Laura grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where she studied piano and cello at Mount Royal Conservatory of Music throughout high school.
Laura completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of Alberta, which is also when she started working with YONA-Sistema casually. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Laura completed a Masters in Music Performance at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. During her Master's, Laura was a section cellist in the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, Laura is working with the fantastic YONA-Sistema team in Edmonton and pursuing other music opportunities to satisfy her artistic cravings.
