Rebecca Schellenberg

Violin

Rebecca Schellenberg has been a music educator for over 30 years. Her teaching has included children, adults, and youthful seniors. Her skills have taken her to small towns in Alberta as a festival adjudicator, the University of Alberta campus where she teaches for Edmonton Lifelong Learners Association (ELLA), her home studio where she teaches privately and conducts a fiddle club, and even to China where she taught primary school music teachers.

Rebecca is also a freelance musician, having performed with the Edmonton Symphony, Prince George Symphony and symphonies in Regina, Saskatoon and Kamloops.

Teaching Quote/Philosophy:

My aim is to develop excellence in your technique and nurture your creative interpretation of music. Regular practice is essential at every stage of violin playing. Your dedication is definitely required!

Lesson Description:

Rebecca can prepare you for Royal Conservatory exams, help you learn a piece you have always wanted to play, or teach fiddle tunes so you can participate in her fiddle club. She enjoys teaching all levels and styles of music.

Rebecca especially enjoys teaching adults, so if taking lessons is on your bucket list, what are you waiting for? She will teach you at your own pace, making lessons comfortable yet challenging. Her adult students regularly give informal outdoor park concerts playing together in a group. You are not required to play solos at all. Adults often tell her that their lessons are the best part of their week.

Rebecca teaches private lessons, as well as group lessons. She is available at her private studio near Southgate Mall. Online lessons are always available as well. Request lessons with Rebecca to discuss lesson availability and rates.
