Join us for an engaging learning experience rooted in the beauty of a live performance at the Winspear Centre. Education Concerts introduce elementary students to the exciting world of symphonic music with the opportunity to see and hear the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performing specially programmed concerts filled with a wide-range of musical concepts.
Designed with the Alberta curriculum in mind, educators will receive a comprehensive study guide with ready-made lesson plans and activities before the concert to prepare students for the repertoire performed in the concert. Have fun experiencing real-world applications of musical learning objectives and bring your class this year for this memorable field trip.
Some subsidies are available for qualifying schools attending both Education Concerts and Open Dress Rehearsals. Check here for details.

Wandering with Wonder

Wandering with Wonder tells the tale of a girl, Wonder, who loses her song and looks to her friends Turtle, Bear, Beaver, and Eagle to help her find it. Through this story with film, featuring the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a host of Canadian artists, we learn we all have a little Wonder within us – which allows us to speak to the animals and listen to the trees. When we are silent, we can hear our own songs in the wind.

At the heart of the symphony, if you but listen true, is a magical musical mystery that can only be solved by YOU. So begins the curious letter that 8-year-old Sarah T. Murdoch receives under her seat – setting her off on a quest for a Mysterious WHO. From Beethoven to Amanda Maier, from Mozart to Brahms, Sarah wonders if it's a composer she's looking for. Or the conductor? Maybe it's some member of the orchestra – and how each person contributes their individual voice to the music. With only 45 minutes and a magical book to help her, can Sarah solve the mystery at the heart of the symphony? Whimsical and surprising, M is for Mystery is about the joy of discovery, the humanity that connects us all, and the timeless magic of music.

Cancellation / Alteration Policy
For cancellation or any alteration that diminishes the number of seats needed, occurring within one month of the concert date, a fee of 50% of the cost of the deleted seats will be charged. If less than two weeks’ notice is given, the full cost of the booking will be charged.
