Mitch Jay

Growing up in PEI, Mitch Jay was surrounded by roots and folk music. Ini?ally, he was drawn to the guitar, but eventually to more tradi?onal bluegrass instruments, as well as the pedal steel guitar. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to play with many ar?sts, both on studio recordings, and on stage. He was been awarded 5 CCMA’s for Steel Guitar Player of the year, 5 CCMA’s for Specialty Instrument Player of the Year, 5 Musician of the Year Awards from CMAB, and his personal favourite; the Rooted to the Island Award from Music PEI, in 2020.
