Five-time CCMA Bass Player of the Year award winner Travis Switzer is a staple of the Canadian Country music landscape. Recently featured at the National Music Centre’s Musician’s Hall of Honor in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Travis was honored for his contribution to Canadian Country Music.
Now, over two decades of his career has been made up of dozens of national tours, hundreds of recording sessions, video, and TV productions, among many other facets of the music industry. From the Arctic Circle to Mexico City and everywhere in between, as well as China and Europe, Travis is sought after by producers, musical directors, and artists from coast to coast to coast. From his early days playing in his family band, to his time in the music program at Grant MacEwan, to most recently performing on the Ryman stage in Nashville and some of the biggest venues, stages, and festivals with audiences of tens of thousands across the continent, Switzer has played with many of Canada’s top artists like CCMA and Juno award winning Dallas Smith, Grammy-nominated songwriter, Deric Ruttan, and major country artists Emerson Drive, Tom Cochrane, Terri Clark, Mackenzie Porter, Meghan Patrick, Tenille Townes, Jason Blaine, High Valley, Paul Brandt, the Hunter Brothers, and the great Ian Tyson, plus many others.
