Peter Eratostene

Peter Eratostene joined the ESO in 2024. Prior to joining, Peter was the librarian for The National Ballet of Canada and The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. He was a library fellow at the Tanglewood Music Festival under the tutelage of Russel Allyn in 2024. In 2023 Peter studied under Justin Vibbard at the Sarasota Music Festival.

Peter is a classically trained double bassist, holding a masters degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied with Tony Flynt. He also spent many years gigging on electric bass in the Toronto scene.

Peter has composed and arranged for large and small ensembles including big bands, septets and trios in a jazz and classical setting.

Peter enjoys swimming, cycling, and collecting opera CDs and CDs of Canadian orchestras.
