Ben Caufield

Ben Caufield is a drummer and sound engineer from Edmonton, Alberta. Recently completing his bachelor's in jazz and contemporary music from MacEwan University, he seeks to expand his skillset within the music industry both as a player and as a recording engineer. Behind the kit, Ben has experience playing a variety of styles, having had the opportunity to study with many great teachers over the years, including a few months under the legendary Finnish drummer Tommi Rautiainen, during an exchange in Finland through the MacEwan music program. Behind the board, Ben has experience recording and producing everything from intimate singer-songwriters to hard-hitting post-grunge. Ben emphasizes the community and cultural benefits to be gained through studying, playing, and listening to music, and is an advocate for accessible music education. Apart from playing and recording, Ben also has experience behind the scenes in the music industry, from working as a stagehand for packed stadium shows, to developing his own curriculum as a private instructor, to sitting on the board of directors for the Toneart Ensemble, a local music collective and non-profit. You can find him performing some of his own compositions live with various bands across Edmonton.
