Maria Lobreau
Violin Teaching Artist since 2024
Maria started her journey with music at an early age on xylophone in Pre-K rhythm band. She learned to play piano, violin and French horn throughout her school years. Music has opened the doors for Maria to meet others, play in various ensembles and travel the world. Maria played in the Edmonton All City Concert Band, Edmonton Youth Orchestras and the University of Alberta Academy of Strings, and currently plays with Wye Strings Ensemble, Divertimento, Jamwagon Collective, and teaches Suzuki community violin students at UofA Augustana Campus. Maria holds a BSc, Family Studies Degree from the University of Alberta. Her career working with individuals of all ages has evolved over the year allowing her to work in various cities, communities, settings and capacities with individuals over the life span. Maria enjoys a wide range of musical genres and loves to compose simple melodies on piano and violin. She values her family, family pets, faith, and close friends as well as a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, cooking, curling and biking.
