Mendelssohn’s effervescent piano concerto features Danae Dörken, a rising young star from Germany. The ESO’s own Julianne Scott performs Debussy’s impressionistic Rhapsodie, and the orchestra salutes its dear friend and colleague Michael Massey, who is celebrating his 50th year of music-making in Edmonton, with the world premiere of his new orchestral work Two Rivers. Mozart’s sunny Symphony No.29 completes the afternoon.
