Under the direction of ESO Artistic Partner Jean-Marie Zeitouni, Berlioz’ revolutionary Symphonie Fantastique joins a work of bravery and survival, I Lost My Talk. Composed by Edmonton’s own John Estacio with text by Mi’kmaw elder and poet Rita Joe, the text will be read by author, actor, and activist Christine Sokaymoh Frederick. To round out the evening, ESO violinist Laura Veeze reprises her tender and expressive interpretation of Chausson’s Poème. Canadian composer Alexina Louie’s early work, Music for a Celebration, completes the program.
