The magnificent Fifth has been one of Beethoven's most popular works from his time to ours. Its bold drama, fearless defiance and triumphant finale still raise goosebumps. In 2021, Calgary’s Kevin Chen was the youngest winner in the history of the Liszt Piano Competition; he plays his award-winning interpretation of Liszt’s dazzling concerto. Both works are complemented by a colourful operatic overture.
