Mozart’s beloved final symphony got its nickname from a publisher who was reminded of Jupiter’s mythological thunderbolts. His "divine spark of genius” comes through in the intricate details hidden under glorious melodies. Music by Kodály, who composed his catchy suite based on folk tunes he found in an old book of dances from his native Hungary, rounds out this exciting program.
