About The Concert

After his unforgettable debut in October 2024, pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (of Salmon Arm, BC) returns to perform the work with which he won the 2024 Leeds Piano Competition—Brahms' epic Piano Concerto No. 2.

Wagner's Prelude to his innovative opera Tristan and Isolde conveys melodramatic longing with aching harmonic progressions and unmatched emotional intensity.

Tchaikovsky's tone poem of Francesca da Rimini’s tragic tale completes this romantic program steeped in passion, drama, and doomed love.

This concert will include an intermission.

Patrons of this event are invited to attend a prelude presentation before this concert on Saturday, February 14, starting at 6:45 PM in the Upper Circle Lobby (3rd Floor). This talk by Aaron Au is a fantastic way to learn more about the pieces being performed in your concert.
