The Good Friday concert at the Winspear centre has been a tradition for decades.
Joined by the Da Camera Singers (director John Brough) and fifteen wind players, we will perform the magnificent Mass in E-minor by Anton Bruckner. This feature-length work from 1882 has been called a “romantic symphony with liturgical text” and is without parallel in the church music of the 19th century. Also on the program is a newly-composed Stabat Mater for Good Friday by our composer-in-residence Uģis Prauliņš.
