The Milk Carton Kids & Katie Pruitt

North American Tour 2022
Tuesday, October 25, 2022 8:00 PM

GRAMMY-nominated indie folk duo The Milk Carton Kids (TMCK) return to the Winspear Centre for the first time since 2018 for a special co-headlining show with singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt. TMCK, formed by Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale, have released six albums, including their latest, The Only Ones — a stripped-down compilation of songs that feature their signature oscillating harmonies and intricate, inventive musicianship. Perfectly complementing the duo on their North American tour is rising Americana singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt. With a narrative voice both poetic and unaffected, the Georgia-bred artist treads complex emotional ground through her music: mental illness, toxic relationships, and the frustration and shame of growing up gay in the Christian south. Her debut album, Expectations, landed her recognition as a Rolling Stone “Artist You Need to Know” and a nomination for Emerging Act of the Year at the Americana Music Association. Don’t miss this special night of storytelling and song on the Winspear stage this fall.
