After a few years of playing the piano, Jacquie discovered her love of the harp at the age of 12. She has never looked back since! The harp has allowed her to play and connect with people across Canada, the United States, and Europe. She formally studied the harp at McGill University where she earned her Bachelor of Music and she earned her Master of Music in Harp Performance at the New England Conservatory in Boston. She also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Los Angeles where she studied how music can be a vehicle for positive social change. Since completing her studies, she has made her home in Edmonton where she works as the YONA-Sistema Site Manager. She also freelances as harpist and has played with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Red Deer Symphony, and the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. She loves working with kids and helping to build musical communities.
