Conducted by Kensho Watanabe
Friday, March 17, 2023 8:00 PM

From Shostakovich’s hidden musical signature to energetic folk tunes, Shostakovich & Cello highlights beauty, talent, and passion. Join the ESO, conductor Kensho Watanabe, and ESO Principal Cello, Rafael Hoekman, to experience the excitement of Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto. Florence Price is at last getting the attention she deserves. These Dances capture the Black American experience including Joplin-like rags and ballroom dances popular in the South in the early 1900’s.
