From the heart of the Romantic era come three lyrical and rousing works. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is one of the cornerstones of the repertoire, while the works of Schumann and Dvořák bookend an age in music that established the symphony orchestra. The ESO’s inaugural Artistic Partner, violinist Andrew Wan, returns, and the evening is led by conductor Michael Stern.
