Young Canadian conductor Earl Lee, recent recipient of the prestigious Solti Conducting Award, joins the ESO for a splendid concert of Romantic treasures. Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony opens with an ominous “fate” theme, yet through tumult and drama, the orchestra blazes toward a triumphant conclusion.
