About The Concert

By popular demand, the eccentric inventor and musician Al Simmons returns to the Winspear stage! A wizard of gadgets, he’ll debut three tracks from his 2024 album, The Whistling Egg Man, in a concert filled with slapstick comedy, catchy songs, and uproarious charm.

Symphony For Kids concerts are designed to be the ideal child-sized introduction to orchestral music. Family-friendly activities are available in the lobby prior to each SFK concert, so be sure to arrive early – and, of course, there will be fresh popcorn!

This concert will not include an intermission.

Lobby Activities

Fun family-friendly activities are available in the lobby prior to each concert, so be sure to arrive early.

  • Silly Puppet Craft (Main Lobby): Make a fun friend to accompany you to the show! Pick out your favourite funny face and decorate your paper bag puppet. Musical jokes will be provided to make your friends and family laugh!
  • Storytime (Founders’ Room): Sit down, relax, and enjoy some of your favourite stories with the EPL!
  • Building Blocks Rhythm (Dress Lobby): Build fun rhythms using building blocks! Make a rhythm tower or create your own masterpiece!
  • Bucket drumming (Studio B): Explore this unique percussion instrument and have fun with improvisation. Play with a small group and jam out before the show!
  • Movement Adventure (Upper Circle Lobby): Jump over obstacles and move through fun virtual spaces in this movement activity. You will be able to explore virtual worlds and envision yourself in amazing surroundings.
