About The Concert
Many memorable themes make up Schubert’s delightful Sixth Symphony, but despite composing it in his early 20s, Schubert never got to hear its public premiere, which happened shortly after his untimely death a decade later. Sara Davis Buechner returns to the Winspear stage to perform Saint-Saëns’ dazzling Piano Concerto No. 2, which will showcase her virtuosity on the keys. Johann Strauss II’s bombastic overture to his operetta Die Fledermaus features several familiar tunes you know and love.
