About The Concert

Witness the exceptional talent of Canada's young musicians in the National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYO Canada) as they tackle beloved orchestral classics such as Ravel's La Valse. Enjoy modern works by Canada's Violet Archer, France's Lili Boulanger, Finland's Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Germany's Paul Hindemith. You’ll also hear exciting an contemporary work, Out of Thin Air, by SOCAN’s 2023 Emerging Composer "Under 21" winner Danial Sheibani. “NYO Canada thrives on exploring both iconic masterpieces and innovative works,” says Music Director, Naomi Woo, who will conduct this thrilling performance. “In our 2024 season, we'll delve into pieces that have shaped music history, building upon the legacies of past composers while also gesturing towards the future.”
