Join us for an engaging learning experience rooted in the beauty of a live performance at the Winspear Centre. Education Concerts introduce elementary students to the exciting world of symphonic music with the opportunity to see and hear the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performing specially programmed concerts filled with a wide-range of musical concepts. Designed with the Alberta curriculum in mind, educators will receive a comprehensive study guide with ready-made lesson plans and activities before the concert to prepare students for the repertoire performed in the concert. Have fun experiencing real-world applications of musical learning objectives and bring your class this year for this memorable field trip.

Division 1
Charlot & Mlle Cello

This pantomime concert pays homage to Charlie Chaplin, a comedic genius. You’ll meet two lively characters: Charlot, a formerly famous composer now working as a poster artist, and Mademoiselle Cello. Join us as we watch their chance encounter in a London park blossom into a friendship that celebrates their love of music.

Dates: May 9, 10 & 12, 2023 at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM
50-minute program without intermission

Tickets: $9.00 / student

Beethoven Lives Upstairs

When his mother rents their vacant room to a peculiar composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, 10-year-old Christoph can’t believe his bad luck. But as the gruff man begins creating his masterful Ninth Symphony, Christoph is won over by the majesty of his music.
